5 Reasons for Making Final Arrangements Before they are Urgently Needed

1. Personal Satisfaction and Peace of Mind
On a pre-arrangement basis, the grave, crypt or niche can be selected by all family members during a period of calm and
rational decision making which assures everyone's satisfaction. No one will be guessing or disagreeing about what you
really wanted. You guarantee yourself and your family that your funeral will be less stressful and easier on all involved at the
time when that is most important. Remember, your family needs to honor your life to help them heal after you are gone.

2. Price Freezing
Based on the last five decades, it is clear that the cost of cemetery and funeral arrangements continue to increase.
Prearrangements assure the cost will be frozen at today's prices saving considerable costs to you or your family. The
resources saved now will be of even more value to your family in the future. Thinking ahead is smart, saves hard-earned
money and is a tangible investment in your family's financial future.

3. Family Togetherness
With pre-need arrangements a husband and wife make mutual choices, saving loved ones heartache, expense and
inconvenience at the time of death. Pre-need arrangements represent one of the most gracious and compassionate things
you can do for your family. Acting now greatly reduces the decisions they will have to make at the time of death. Pre-need
arrangements are a considerate act of love to those you love the most.

4. Conserves Insurance
Pre-need arrangements lower insurance costs. Life insurance is intended to benefit the living, not the deceased. Most life
insurance is purchased to allow a family time to adjust to the loss of income that a death causes. If prearrangements are
not made, a portion of insurance proceeds may be spent on cemetery and funeral costs.

5. Deferred Payments and Payment Options
Funeral and memorialization costs are expenses every individual will eventually pay. For those who do not pre-plan they
often arrive at the least appropriate or affordable times. Pre- planning burial costs allows for interest free budgeted
payments, while payment at the time of death is traditionally made on a cash basis. This allows families to allocate burial
costs as a nominal budget expense for a predictable period of time rather then withdraw valuable savings or incur
expensive credit card costs. Pre-need arrangements simply represent the most cost effective and inexpensive way to plan
and pay for you or your family's funeral and burial expenses.
Frequently Asked Questions About Pre-Need Funeral Insurance Plans

Why should I use an pre-arranged funeral insurance policy?

A life insurance funeral policy offers an increasing, tax-free death benefit and may protect you for the full cost of your funeral.
With the help of your funeral director or a pre-planning specialist, your pre-arranged funeral may be funded by a life
insurance policy. This will eliminate many questions, the indecision, and the financial burden when these services are
needed.

Why not invest the money myself?

You could set monies aside for your funeral expenses; however, by putting money in a bank or an investment, you would
earn interest or dividends. Interest and dividends may be reportable to the IRS and taxes could be due on that gain (check
with your tax attorney). There are other policies available that appear to do the same thing, however, their death benefit may
never grow and may even decrease. A life insurance based funeral policy is designed to allow for an increasing death
benefit. Your coverage will increase, and never decrease!

What will my children think if I purchase a life insurance based pre-need funeral policy?

Our experience and research indicates that the primary reason for pre-planning and pre-funding your own funeral is the
peace of mind you have knowing that your children and other family members will be relieved of many financial and
emotional burdens.  Purchasing a prearranged funeral policy is the loving, responsible, and prudent way of paying for
funeral expenses.

What will happen if I change my mind?

The pre-need funeral policies we offer have a 30-day “free look” period. This allows you time to review your policy, call us,
your funeral home, or pre-planning specialist with any questions or concerns you may have about your pre-need policy. Our
goal is your satisfaction.  We want you to feel assured that your needs and desires are just as you planned.

I am a Veteran. Won’t my benefits take care of my funeral, cremation, cemetery and other burial costs?

In most cases, no. Benefits may fluctuate with the availability of government funding. You may live in an area that has a
national cemetery in which you may be buried; however, the funeral home would need to be paid separately. There may
also be a burial allowance available, but it is usually not sufficient to cover all funeral costs. Many veterans direct that this
allowance be sent directly to their families and select a preneed funeral policy to pay for all of their funeral or cremation
costs.

What is the Social Security death benefit?

The Social Security death benefit is paid only to a surviving spouse. As of March, 2008 the amount paid is $255. In most
cases, this is a fraction of the funeral cost.

Am I too young for a funeral plan?

Purchasing a pre-paid funeral policy is a sound decision for people of all ages. We have options available for ages up to
and including age 100.  None of us know when our funeral plan will be used, we just know that at some point it will. Being
prepared can only make this easier for your family.

What if I move to another state?

It is not uncommon for people to relocate in this mobile society. Because this is an insurance policy, in most cases you
may change the assignment or beneficiary to another funeral home.

What happens if I become ill?

If you have selected a multi-pay plan, you are required to continue to pay all premiums due in a timely manner.  Your
premiums will remain the same for the entire premium-paying period (they cannot increase because of health issues). If
you have selected a single premium plan, no additional premiums are due and your coverage will remain in force.

Is this policy protected if I have to apply for medical assistance or Medicaid?

Under the law of many states, a prepaid burial or cremation policy may be protected from being an accountable asset if it is
irrevocably assigned to the funeral home providing the services and merchandise described in the estimate or funeral
service contract used to establish the cost of your pre-arranged funeral. The total amount of your final expense cost and the
face amount of your burial insurance funeral policy should mirror each other. Requirements may vary from state to state, or
county to county. Please check with your funeral director or preneed specialist.

"Having all my mother's paperwork already completed has
helped so much since she became terminally ill.
Everything is running smoothly and no one is questioning
my decisions.  With her pre-planning guide completed, we
just gave it to the funeral home and had no decisions left to
make.  I don't know what we would have done without this."
- M. Lutz
"The knowledge this Gift Of Love handbook gave the family
was like a preemptive strike.  We were able to settle my
father's estate step-by-step, and we knew where everything
was and who to call.  There was no confusion.  The funeral
pre-planning guide kept the family on track with a budget
and no bickering since there were no decisions left to be
made."   - B. Almanza, IV
"This Gift of Love handbook is so very thorough.  My mother
is now incapacitated however, everything has run smoothly.
Family members have tried to question my mother's wishes
however, with everything already in writing and completed,
everything is very clear.  I would recommend this handbook
to everyone."  - J. Swomley
"This Gift Of Love book was a God send.  Things were so
much easier, especially for his children who had never been
through this before.  Other family members tried to
influence the children to change what he wanted but
because it was in writing, we were able to follow his wishes
even before he passed away.  We are so grateful that even
the details of his clothing choice were already made.
